2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
24. Do not use toaster for other than intended use.
3. To protect against fire, electrical shock, and injury to persons, DO NOT
IMMERSE CORD, PLUG, OR TOASTER in water or other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when appliances are used by or near children.
25. WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, REPAIR
SHOULD ONLY BE DONE BY VILLAWARE MFG. CO. DO NOT REMOVE THE BASE
PANELS, OR OPEN THE APPLIANCE. NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS ARE INSIDE.

26. No preheating is required.
27. This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.
6. Do not carry or suspend the toaster by the power cord.
7. To disconnect, make sure bread lifter is in up position, then remove
plug from wall outlet.
8. To cancel the toasting mid-cycle, switch off the power on/off and mid-cycle
cancel switch.
9. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the
appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
• Do not operate while unattended. Contents could jam, causing fire.
• For pastry items, always use the defrost setting; frostings and fillings can ignite.
• Food items with frostings or runny fillings could drip into toaster well and cause
damage or result in fire. If frosting or filling does drip into toaster well, follow
“Care and Cleaning” instructions before using toaster again.
• Children should be closely supervised.
• Do not “play” with the pop-up melody by repeatedly pushing the mid-cycle cancel
button. This could interfere with normal re-charge time, and cause melody sound to
temporarily distort. If melody should sound distorted or fading, simply allow toaster
to go through a normal toasting cycle. Circuit will properly re-charge and melody
will return to normal function.
• Immediately unplug toaster if fire or smoke is observed.
• Please read and save this Instruction Booklet.
18. Do not place any object over the opening of the toaster when it is in use.
19. Do not cover the toaster when it is in use.
20. A fire may occur if toaster is covered by or touching flammable material, includ-
ing curtains, draperies, walls, etc. when in operation.
21. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.

HOW TO USE YOUR POOH TOASTER
SPECIAL CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS
For best results, follow these instructions.
A short electrical cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or in
tripping over a longer cord. Longer extension cords are available from a variety of retail
stores and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a long extension cord is used,
the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least equal to the electrical
rating of the appliance.
When your toaster is new you may notice a slight smoking or odor. This is normal
with many heating appliances and will not recur. This does not affect the safety
of your appliance.
1. Plug in the toaster.
2. Select your toasting level 1-5 with the control dial. The higher the number, the
browner the toast will be. Toasting is affected by the temperature of the bread,
refrigerated or room temperature, the moisture content, the freshness and
thickness of slice.
Care should be taken not to allow cords to hang over the edge of a counter or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or animals or tripped over. If your appliance has a
grounded 3-prong plug, you must use the compatible 3-wire extension cord.
3. Place the bread in the slots and press down on the lift control. This lift control
will automatically pop up when your toasting cycle is complete. If you wish
to stop the toasting in mid-cycle, just push the cancel button and the lift control
will pop up.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety
feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit
fully in the outlet, reverse the plug.
NOTE: Do not force the lift control up by hand, as this can damage the toaster.
Instead, always push the cancel button to get toaster to pop up before automatic
cycle has completed.
If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this
safety feature.
Sometimes when toasting 2 batches of toast, one right after another, the lift con-
trol may not lock down immediately and you may hear a buzzing sound. This
means that the thermostat has not reset itself. Wait a few seconds and try again.
FEATURES OF YOUR POOH TOASTER
• Extra-wide toasting slots accommodate most any bread or bagel thickness.
4. If your bread gets stuck during toasting switch off, unplug and allow to cool
down before attempting to remove it. DO NOT insert knives, forks, etc. into the
toaster as there is risk of electrical shock and damage to the heating elements
and toaster mechanism.
5. Once the bread has been toasted, the bread will pop up automatically. At this
point the heating elements will automatically turn off.
• Self-adjusting mechanism inside of slots, automatically centers to any
bread thickness for even browning on both sides.
• Mid-cycle cancel cancel switch. If you want your toast to pop up earlier,
just touch the button.
• Electronic browning control dial with 5 settings.
Electronic solenoid switch automatically pops up the lift control when
the cycle is complete.
• Crumb tray easily slides out for cleaning.
• Professional stainless steel exterior

CLEANING YOUR POOH TOASTER
1. Unplug the toaster and allow to cool down.
2. Slide out crumb tray, discard crumbs and wipe tray with clean cloth. If the toaster
is used daily, the crumb tray should be cleaned approximately weekly.
3. Wipe outside of toaster with a clean damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive scouring
pad or steel wool as this will damage the housing finishes. Do not use abrasive
cleaners that will scratch the surface of the toaster. A little metal polish suitable
for stainless steel may be occasionally used.
4. Do not immerse toaster in water or any liquid. Do not place in dishwasher.
